Name: Nick Andrews
Hometown: Mount Gilead
Nick Andrews was the first man to move into Bell House back in 1979. When he moved in he brought his love or art with him. At the early age of eight years old, Nick discovered he had a talent with a typewriter. He found that he could manipulate the letters and use different color ribbon and create beautiful scenes. While his first creation was described as a “primitive Christmas tree” Nick has since created beautiful snow scenes, cathedrals, hummingbirds and streams. His originals adorn his wall while he sells several duplicates in greeting card form. Aside from this art form, Nick also paints once a week at the Exceptional Arts Studio here in Greensboro. His paintings have been on display in several art shows and most recently one of his donated pieces was raffled off at a United Way benefit.
Nick’s other hobbies include computer golf and bridge, attending the Advancing Independence Program, and tubing behind the boat on Lake Tillery.
